MOV format is from Apple. Its also called as Quicktime Movie. The advantages of this format are:
* This format is supported by most of the video editing software
* The video clarity is very good
* This is a Lossless format
* Quicktime is the container for MP4 formats
* Smaller file size
* It uses animation rendering technology to make the video crisp and clear
* MOV format can be used for streaming videos as well
* Cross-compatible with many Operating systems
* H.264 (MPEG-4 Part 10) is also a superior video format, but requires a faster CPU and higher RAM to run. Although this can be considered as the future format. The advantage of H.264 codec is lesser bitrate with higher quality. Definitely in future (say after 2 yrs) I’d switch to this format.
